Continuous Glucose Sensor Service - Now at Tailor Made Nutrition in Woodbury, MN and available to come to a location near you!

We hear a lot about blood sugars and their impact on our health. Most of us know someone with diabetes and understand that it’s a disease that continues to be diagnosed at an alarming rate. As a matter of fact, there are over 30 million Americans with diabetes and over 85 million Americans with pre-diabetes. Our blood sugars can impact our mood, energy, sleep, concentration, appetite, weight, performance and more. When blood sugars start to exceed the normal and healthy range, it increases risk for obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.

How do you know what your blood sugars are doing every day? Even blood glucose meters give you a one second glimpse of a full 24 hours of blood sugar fluctuations and changes. All the general guidelines for keeping blood sugars in normal range are helpful BUT everyone’s body and blood sugars respond differently to different lifestyle variables such as food, exercise, stress, illness, medication, and sleep. What makes your blood sugars rise may be different from what makes the person sitting next to you blood sugars rise.

The FreeStyle Libre Pro Continuous Glucose Monitor is a diagnostic tool that continually monitors glucose levels to establish blood sugar trends and patterns. The FreeStyle libre Pro allows you to gather blood glucose trends every few minutes over 24 hours for 14 days, equating to 10-15 blood glucose readings every hour, roughly 360 blood glucose checks over 24 hours and roughly 5,040 checks over 14 days. This is when glucose patterns reveal themselves so you can better understand how your individual body’s glucose levels are impacted by all aspects of life.

With this service from The Point, one of our registered nurses will insert a sensor into the back of your arm that can be worn for up to 14 days. During this time, your blood glucose levels will be recorded every few minutes over a 24 hour period. While wearing the sensor, we recommend you track lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, and activity to understand what influences your blood sugar trends. After 14 days, you remove the sensor, mail it back to us, and we will download your personal report. Your data can be reviewed with one of our nurses over the phone or in person.

If you have a diagnosis of Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, we will offer this test with the approval and signature of the clinician managing your diabetes. We will mail your results directly to your healthcare provider. Your clinician will be responsible for making all lifestyle recommendations and medication adjustments.

Cost: $249 - $399 depending on appointment type selected. Cost includes: 1-2 one hour appointments with one of our registered nurses and all necessary information and products for one 14 day sensor trial.
