OUR TEAM
Christa Rymal
Founder, Co-Owner & CEOI have worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years in emergency medicine, cardiac care, orthopedics, primary care, diabetes education and endocrinology. I have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Masters Degree in HealthCare Leadership, Advanced training from the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Institute of Functional Medicine, and American Academy of Funtional Medicine.
It was during my time working as a diabetes nurse educator, followed by my role as Director of Diabetes Care and Endocrinology, that I was motivated to be a change agent in the way we treat and manage chronic disease. I was alarmed at the increased prevalence of diabetes and the complex nature and cost of managing the disease. I was inspired by those patients who became partners in their care and with the right support, education, and coaching were empowered to make lifestyle changes that resulted in improved health and happiness. After initiating a “Living Well with Diabetes” series of classes with a local culinary kitchen, where providers, patients, and family members participated in innovative disease management cooking classes, I was determined to bring the science and practice of lifestyle medicine to more people living with a chronic disease or aiming to prevent one. This was the starting point for my change in personal health, passion for lifestyle and functional medicine, and the turning point in my career in healthcare. I realize the important role that nurses serve as they speak the language of medicine, healing, and health.
After reaching out to those who have personally or professionally inspired my own journey to improved health, our dynamite “The Point” team of experts was created! Experts in lifestyle and functional medicine, but equally as important, experts in pursuing adventure, sharing laughter, providing support, encouraging greatness, and helping others achieve their personal goals!
When I am not spending time at “The Point” you can find me spending time with my family and friends, watching our daughters basketball and soccer games, hiking, camping and canoeing in the Boundary Waters, downhill skiing, spending time on our farm, playing pickle ball, yoga, traveling, going to a music concert, cooking, or continuing to study all things related to health, fitness, nutrition, and functional/lifestyle medicine.
Biggest life accomplishments – my 3 girls, living in small cabin in Fairbanks Alaska for 6 months, completing a triathlon, finishing the 3 day/60 mile breast cancer walk with 3 wonderful women, completing a 40 mile dogsled adventure in the Boundary waters with my good friend and 3 of our daughters, and helping my dad write and publish his autobiography.
Next adventures and goals: traveling to Cuba with my husband and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with two of my dearest friends!
Chuck Runyon

A leading authority in the field of fitness, Runyon revolutionized the industry when he and Dave Mortensen co-founded Anytime Fitness in 2002. The world’s largest and fastest-growing fitness club serves 4,000,000 members in nearly 40 countries and it is the first franchise in history with locations on all seven continents. Anytime Fitness features precisely what people say they want most from a gym: convenience, affordability, supportive coaching and a wide range of fitness program options.
For his unprecedented and unique contributions to the fitness industry, Chuck was honored as the “Visionary of the Year” by the International Health, Racquet, and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA). He and Dave Mortensen also were recently named “Entrepreneurs of the Year” by Ernst & Young.
In addition to Anytime Fitness, Self Esteem Brands serves as the parent company to three other rapidly-growing franchises: Waxing the City – with nearly 200 studios dedicated to providing the finest waxing experience imaginable; The Bar Method – a popular, low-impact fitness franchise with more than 100 studios across 30 states and Canada; and Basecamp Fitness – a new high-intensity, class-based fitness concept.
Central to Chuck’s leadership philosophy is the concept of “ROEI” – the return on emotional investment. In fact, Chuck recently co-authored a book called “Love Work: Inspire a high-performing work culture at the center of People, Purpose, Profits and Play®.”
Under Runyon’s leadership, Anytime Fitness has earned numerous industry accolades, including “One of America’s Most Promising Companies” and the world’s #1 franchise. Additionally, Anytime Fitness has been honored as a “Top Franchise for Minorities” and “The Best Place to Work in Minnesota” – four years in a row.
Jamie Petschow
Director of Marketing & OperationsWith extensive experience in Project and Program Management, Business Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources; Jamie helps lead as The Point’s partner in Marketing and Operations.
Jamie graduated from The University of Minnesota (B.S.), and has since worked with international, corporate, small, medium and large businesses; and has consulted independently. Through mutual core values (for knocking down health silos to ensure everyone’s access to well-being); she now works passionately at The Point.
With health interests ranging from eastern to western healing, conventional to holistic practices; she has dipped her toes into about every wellness opportunity under the sun. Open to trends, but rooted in research, she is enjoying the practice of healthy living (and working) day-in and day-out at The Point. With her business background, she is especially optimistic about taking-on more workplace-wellness retreats and assisting in The Point’s new custom rental offerings: With our culture getting on the “better balance” bandwagon, she cannot wait to see more and more people experiencing healthier family vacations and group gatherings.
Outside of the office (though ‘office’ is a term used loosely around here) she runs a small community for mothers interested in teaching health and wellness for younger generations, is pursuing continuing education in meditative practices, tours the midwest in her converted sprinter van, and can otherwise be found chasing her toddler around to a Eagles record (i.e., active meditation).

Background
-Most of my career has been spent in natural resources in various capacities. Early on I worked in wilderness management and education in Alaska and Ely, MN which was a great opportunity to make a difference with people that embrace our wild areas. This led to an opportunity in forest research and firefighting with the US Forest Service, which enabled me to learn a great deal about teamwork and building strong working relationships. For the last 15 years I have been a tree nursery owner and grass fed beef farmer. Growing high quality, local, and sustainable beef has been rewarding, and has allowed me to stay close to the land and the people who appreciate pasture based healthy eating. Along the way I acquired my real estate license.
I am looking forward to continued growth at The Point. I have a desire to share with our guests the wellbeing that can be found in the forest and healthy food that can be cultivated with sustainable farming practices. In addition, my goal is to maintain the history of our peninsula and natural beauty of our log cabins and property.
Interests
-I have a strong passion and connection with the outdoors which I pursue mainly through hunting, exploring, and wilderness canoeing and camping. I love all sports and coaching my daughters in basketball has been one of the most rewarding things I have been able to do over the years.

“Becoming your ‘best self’ is a life-long journey, not a day trip. To stay energized and focused, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and avoid becoming discouraged when we fall short. Most importantly, we must not forget to celebrate the small successes along the way.”

Director of Professional Health ServicesLisa is a board-certified nurse practitioner, who has received functional medicine training with the Institute for Functional Medicine. Most recently, she has attended trainings focused in the area of brain health and brain plasticity, focused on how to discover the root cause of neurologic symptoms and assist with creation of a personalized treatment plan. Functional medicine evaluates the whole person by obtaining information about an individual’s genomics, microbiome, nutrient status, hormone health, inflammation and toxic burden. Most chronic diseases have multiple contributing factors that can be modified to achieve improved health.
Lisa is passionate about helping individuals and families who have concerns about cognition. In preparation for this calling, she attended trainings with Dr. Bredesen and the IFM in December 2016 and March 2017. These trainings have provided Lisa with the credential to assess patient’s genetic predisposition for dementia, assess underlying root causes of cognitive changes, and create a personalized plan for preventing or reversing disease.
Having watched both of her parents struggle with complex medical issues in mid-life, including cognitive impairment, this calling is personal for Lisa, as well as professional. Since learning of successful interventions for the prevention and reversal of dementia, she is eager to put this information into actionable plans to help her family, as well as others to live more healthfully into their second half of life.

I want to share these secrets with you. I want you to build optimal health. Most statistics show what it takes to be “average”. We don’t want to be average, we want to be as healthy as humanly possible while we’re on this plane of reality. This is what I’m here to teach you.
